Dr. Reena Pathak, DC

Dr. Reena Pathak is the chiropractor and owner of Hands on Health. She offers a relaxing environment that allows patients enough time to have all of their health care needs and concerns addressed. Rehabilitation, self-care and prevention are emphasized to reduce the potential of re-injury or relapse. She believes that it is not only her job to help you feel better, but to give you the tools to become independently healthy for life.

As Dr. Reena says,"Health care is most effective when there is a partnership between a patient and their health care providers. While many conditions can be addressed through positive lifestyle choices, it is my goal to assist your body's natural healing mechanisms and to show you how to best care for yourself outside of the office."

Additionally, Dr. Pathak integrates evidence-based chiropractic medicine, acupuncture, and rehabilitation into a program customized to your needs to allow you to return to your active lifestyle without pain. You can read more about the services she offers below.

Chiropractic Adjustment

This is also referred to as an "adjustment" and is a specific manipulation a chiropractor performs to a body part (most commonly an area of the spine) that has an abnormal movement pattern or fails to function normally. The main objective of the manipulation is to correct the abnormality, increase range of motion, decrease nerve irritability, and restore proper function.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based off of the belief that the body is made up of energy flow known as "chi" or "qi". An imbalance of this "chi" (qi) is what causes disease. The practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine uses acupuncture and herbs to restore this balance in order to restore health.

Instrument Aided Muscle Mobilization / Graston®

An innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. See Graston Technique's Website for more information.

The Kinesio Taping® Method involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction. The first technique gives the practitioner the opportunity to actually give support while maintaining full range of motion. This enables the individual to participate in their normal physical activity with functional assistance. The second technique, which is most commonly used in the acute stage of rehabilitation, helps prevent overuse or over-contraction and helps provide facilitation of lymph flow for an entire 24 hour period (definition as per Kinesiotaping Institute).

Custom Orthotic Fitting

An individualized consultation and evaluation is done of not only your feet, but also the way you walk and carry yourself. This is followed by a scan of your feet to see how they bare your weight. The scan and evaluation are compiled, sent out, and orthotics are made that are specific to the patient. Research has supported that orthotics have helped in relieving conditions such as common back pain.

Compression Stockings

Dr. Reena's office provides quality gradient compression products to help improve circulation, prevent swelling and relieve tired, achy legs. From knee-highs to pantyhose, trouser socks to thigh-highs, the office offers a wide range of stylish colors, styles and sizes.
The compression stockings are able to be ordered in 15-20mmHg, 20-30mmHg, 30-40mmHg. It will be necessary for patients to have prescription from their medical doctor so that they can be covered by their extended health benefits. Usually to be covered a 20-30mmHg gradient compression stocking must be prescribed.
